Dear Reader,

I want to tell you something my doctor never did.

Not because he's a bad doctor. He's not. He's been treating my family for eleven years. He remembers my daughter's name at every appointment. He called me personally when my bloodwork came back.

But when I walked out of his office with a prescription for Wegovy last March, he shook my hand, told me to check in at six weeks, and sent me on my way.

He never mentioned what was coming.

I'm 47. I live in Orlando, Florida. Two kids. A husband who works long hours. And a body that had been fighting me for the better part of a decade.

I started the shot.

And I want to be clear about something before I go any further.

It worked. Fat melted like wax off a burning candle.

The appetite I had wrestled with my entire adult life just... quieted. Like someone finally turned the volume down on a noise I'd stopped noticing was there.

Thirty pounds by month five. Then forty. Then fifty-two.

Fifty-two pounds!

My husband looked at me one morning across the kitchen table and said, "You look like the woman I married." And I cried. Right there over my coffee.

But, as if my body enjoyed punishing me for every pound I lost…

…Things took a dark turn. And it’s unlike anything you’ve read online about Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, or any GLP-1 med out there.

Hold onto that number. Fifty-two.

It started around month three.

No single moment I can point to. Just a slow, quiet dimming.

I'd wake up tired. Already tired. Before my feet touched the floor. Not the kind coffee fixes. The kind that gets up with you.

Then came the shower.

The first time, I told myself everyone sheds. The second time, I counted. And one morning I stood there with the water running cold, holding a dark swirl of my own hair, doing the thing you do when you're deciding whether to be scared yet.

I stopped wearing it down. I started checking the back of my head with my phone camera.

Then one night my daughter was sitting behind me on the couch, playing with my hair the way she's done since she was five. And she stopped…

…Just for a second. Her hands went still.

She didn't say anything. That was worse.

And my face. I could see it happening. The hollows under my eyes. The way my face looked like it was losing its grip on itself.

I was fifty-two pounds lighter, and I looked worse than I had in years.

I thought I was broken. I thought my body was punishing me for the one thing that was finally going right.

And when I found out why… and how fast it could be fixed… I got angry. Because the answer was simple, it was sitting in published research the whole time, and not one person handed it to me…

So I'm handing it to you!

I found out why on a Tuesday, sometime after midnight.

My husband was asleep. I was in the bathroom with the fan on, parting my hair with my fingers under that awful light, looking at scalp where… it… shouldn’t be. You know?

So, I took my phone to the couch and started typing.

"Hair loss Wegovy normal"

"Ozempic hair falling out how long"

"Telogen effluvium GLP-1"

I didn't even know that last term until the internet taught it to me at 1am. There are whole forums, if you go looking. Thousands of women. All shedding. All told the same thing by the same doctors: it happens sometimes, it should settle down, let's keep an eye on it.

And then I found the study that made me put the phone down.

The Cleveland Clinic…

One in three women on these medications sheds significant amounts of hair. One in three. 33%.

And a Cambridge study from this February found that almost none of us get any guidance at all on what we're losing nutritionally while we lose all the weight.

We celebrate the number on the scale. But no doctor is checking out what's going on underneath it.

Well, here’s exactly what's underneath it. I'll explain it the way I finally understood it, because I'm not a doctor and neither are you.

The shot shuts off your appetite - and you lose fat. However in roughly 1/3 of women, every time you eat on the shot, virtually ALL nutrients go in to keeping you full and slowing digestion. This is what it was designed to do.

However, GLP-1s are designed to reduce hunger and slow blood sugar. Yet for 33% of women with blood sugar sensitivity, ALL nutrients get stripped to keep the meds working. This is why some of us lose our hair in clumps - and nothing seems to stop it. And others have no problems.

I had No answers. I couldn’t stop the shot, right?
Until I found this…

And here's the cruelest part, the part that explains why it feels like it comes out of nowhere. When a follicle gets cut off, the hair doesn't fall that day. It dies quietly and hangs on for six to eight weeks first.

The hair in my drain that morning had been decided back in the spring.

And whatever my body was rationing that night, while I sat on my couch reading, would fall around Labor Day.

That's the part that got me off the couch. Not the hair I'd lost. The hair that was being decided while I did nothing.

So I did what any desperate woman does. I bought things.

The biotin gummies with the mermaid on the bottle. Nothing. Because biotin was never what I was missing. That's gas in a car with no engine.

Rosemary oil, every night, like the videos said. But oil treats the scalp, and my problem was never the oil. It was the supply line feeding the root, and nothing you rub on the surface reaches it.

I even stood in the pharmacy aisle holding the minoxidil box. And something stopped me. I'm glad it did, because I understand now what my gut already knew: you can't order a starving thing to grow.

None of it failed because my hair was beyond help.

"It failed because GLP1s stripped me of fat.

Then nutrient deprivation stripped me of my hair”

The answer found me at the salon, of all places.

Donna has done my hair for nine years. She's seen every head in Orlando, and lately, she told me, she's been seeing the same head over and over.

She ran her fingers through my part, met my eyes in the mirror, and said, "You're on the shot, aren't you."

Not a question.

Then she told me half her chair is on it now. And the ones whose hair stopped shedding all had one thing in common. They weren't taking a pill. They were drinking something.

A little company from the South. Women owned, turns out! Made in the U.S., making a loaded tea built for exactly this.

I almost didn't try it. It's a powder packet you mix into cold water, and it comes in flavors like Rocket Pop. I was looking for a solution and this looked like a treat.

But I'd learned to read labels by then. So I read this one.

And it read like someone had been sitting on my couch at 1am with me.

5 grams of hydrolyzed collagen peptides. The actual structural protein hair is built from, broken down small enough to absorb on an appetite the size of mine.

396% of your daily B12. Then B6, B5, niacin. The full B complex. Not a sprinkle. Restocked levels.

Electrolytes, because the shot turns down your thirst signal too, and dry cells can't deliver anything anywhere.

200mg of green tea caffeine, which I'll get to.

And zero sugar, zero calories, zero carbs. Nothing that fights the shot. Nothing that touches the scale.

It wasn't a treatment. It was a delivery truck. Everything my body had been rationing, in one glass, no appetite required.

I did the other math too. I'd spent over $200 on gummies, oils, and special shampoos that touched nothing. This came out to about $4 a drink.

I ordered a bundle that night…

Now. I want to be careful here, because I promised myself I wouldn't do to you what every ad ever did to me.

I did not wake up on day three healed. Nobody does. The hair that was already gone was gone. No drink brings back what already fell.

But here's what a drink can do. It can change what your body decides next.

Around day ten, the afternoon fog started lifting. I noticed it the way you notice a headache is gone.

Late, and all at once.

The shower took longer. Six weeks, give or take, which is exactly what the timeline says it should take.

Less in my hand. Then noticeably less. Then one morning I stood there under the water and realized I'd stopped counting.

My face came back slowly, and I won't pretend I understand every reason why. But the hollows softened. I looked like myself again. Tired Linda, sometimes. But Linda.

And the direction flipped. That's the only way I know how to say it. For seven months, every week had been a little worse than the one before. Now every week was a little better.

I kept all fifty-two pounds off.

That part never wavered.

And one night in June, my daughter climbed onto the couch behind me and started playing with my hair, the way she's done since she was five.

Her hands didn't stop this time.

She doesn't even know what that meant to me. She was just watching TV.

I sat very still and let her.

So here's why I wrote this letter.

That night on my couch, what I needed wasn't a miracle. It was information. Somebody to tell me I wasn't broken, I wasn't vain, and I wasn't crazy. That my body was doing exactly what bodies do when the supply runs short. And that the fix was simple, cheap, and already made, ninety minutes from my house.

Nobody handed me that. I lost months to gummies and guilt.

So I'm handing it to you…

Because if you're on the shot right now, your body is doing its quiet math today. This week's rationing is October's drain.

You can't save what already fell. You can decide what happens next.
